NNAMDI KANU: THE GAME OF PASSIVE AGGRESSION

NNAMDI KANU: THE GAME OF PASSIVE AGGRESSION
By Umeh Chummy
In his Book 'The 50th Law' prolific writer Robert Greene opined that in today's world, just like every other thing Warfare has evolved, the first to roll out tanks and military hardware (active aggressor) usually suffer the heaviest casualty and loss.
This is so because wars are now prosecuted by allies and proxies and to win more allies you must be seen as vulnerable and endangered.
Contemporary warriors understand this new phenomenon hence they came up with a strategy of war called Passive aggression.
A passive aggressor baits, taunts and VERBALLY attacks his enemy ruthlessly all in a bid to make him take a few wrong steps that will nail him. He must ensure at all cost that his enemy is the first to pull the trigger.
Political warfare has also evolved to this point.
I don't know of anyone who has implemented Passive aggression so masterfully like Nnamdi Kanu. In fact I don't think there would've been any Kanu without this strategy.
He understands Buhari's ego, arrogance, high handedness and military

Abstract.

The question whether African philosophy can bake bread is a very powerful proposition

towards understanding the question of African self identity, affinity and self realization.

African philosophy has gone above and beyond a mere self defensive tool, but it is a

weapon, a practical ideology towards emancipating and building African nation with all it

scientific tentacles by becoming more of African man even in the mists of the multiple

identities, affinities self-realization.

Key Words: Socialism, Renascent Africa, Freedom and After, Philosophical

Introduction

The problem of self retrieval, realization, identity and lack of originality for

Africa (Nigeria) has really affected development in this part of the World. However, the

Health Tips for Heart, Mind, and Body

Looking for the path toward a healthier you? It's not hard to find. The journey begins with some simple tweaks to your lifestyle. The right diet, exercise, and stress-relief plan all play a big role.

Follow a Heart-Healthy Diet

There's an easy recipe if your goal is to keep away problems like heart disease and strokes.
  • Eat more fruits and veggies.
  • Choose whole grains. Try brown rice instead of white. Switch to whole wheat pasta.
  • Choose lean proteins like poultry, fish, beans, and legumes.
  • Cut down on processed foods, sugar, salt, and saturated fat.
When eating healthy, flexibility often works best, says Joyce Meng, MD, assistant professor at the Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center at UConn Health. If you like to follow a strict diet plan, go for it. If not, it's OK. "Find what works for you."
Tricia Montgomery, 52, the founder of K9 Fit Club, knows first-hand how the right diet and lifestyle can help. For her, choosing healthy foods and planning small, frequent meals works well. "I don't deny myself anything," she says. "I still have dessert -- key lime pie, yum! -- and I love frozen gummy bears, but moderation is key."

Exercise Every Day

The more active you are, the better, Meng says. Exercise boosts your heart health, builds muscle and bone strength, and wards off health problems.
Aim for 2 and a half hours of moderate activity, like brisk walking or dancing, every week. If you're OK with vigorous exercise, stick to 1 hour and 15 minutes a week of things like running or playing tennis. Add a couple of days of strength training, too.
If you're busy, try short bursts of activity throughout the day. Walk often. A good target is 10,000 steps a day. Take the stairs. Park your car far away from your destination.
Montgomery exercises every day, often with her dog. By adding lunges, squats, and

Trump and Kim Jong-un are a toxic combination that could have dangerous consequences

What happens when two relatively new leaders, both desperate to project strength to their supporters at home, and unskilled in nuanced foreign policy, go head-to-head? Watch US president Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un over the coming days to find out.
Trump took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to taunt the North Korean government, saying it was “looking for trouble” and threatening to “solve the problem” (presumably of North Korea’s missile testing) without China. The written attack came after a US aircraft carrier was diverted to the region over the weekend, ahead of the April 15 birthday of North Korea’s founding father, traditionally a time to show off military might.
The North Korean government, meanwhile, says it is ready for a fight. “If the US dares opt for a military action, crying out for ‘pre-emptive attack’ … the DPRK is ready to react to any mode of war desired by the US,” a North Korean foreign ministry spokesman said on Tuesday.
Trump kept going later Tuesday, saying in an interview with Fox Business the US was sending “an armada” to the region to challenge Kim that was “very powerful,” and hinting that submarines might be involved too.
North Korea, a politically isolated dictatorship of 25 million people, has a history of belligerent statements and sometimes fatal skirmishes with neighboring

Hitler refused to use sarin during WWII. The mystery is why.

Adolf Hitler gassed and killed 6 million Jews during World War II — a genocide that makes his reluctance to use sarin against his military adversaries an enduring mystery.
It wasn’t because he was less evil than Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, despite White House press secretary Sean Spicer’s tone-deaf statement Tuesday that “someone as despicable as Hitler” didn’t use chemical weapons the way Assad did.
And it wasn’t because Hitler didn’t have sarin. A German scientist had stumbled onto sarin while experimenting with compounds in an attempt to kill beetles. The German military built a sarin factory in 1943. Officers pleaded with Hitler to use it.
He didn’t.

Political Scientists and Nation-Building

Political Scientists and Nation-Building: The
Nigerian Experience
1Jonah I. Onuoha, 2Michael I. Ugwueze

1(Professor) Department of Political Science, University Of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria 2Department of Political Science, University Of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria

Abstract:  Nation-building is so crucial a project that requires the services of many actors to achieve. It embodies such elements as national integration, poverty reduction through employment generation, robust economic development through industrialization, as well as infrastructural revolution through good governance.  The actors involved in it have different and very important roles to play. Unfortunately, over the years, especially in Nigeria, the role of political scientists in nation-building has been surreptitiously scuffled through a deliberate constitutional design to permeate an unsavoury political exclusionism in addition to the crude stereotypic mentality built around them by Nigerians. Against this backdrop, the paper asked: what role(s) should political scientists play in the overall project of nation-building in Nigeria? Among other things, the work discovered that the role of political scientists in the project of nation-building is to offer genuine political leadership which remains the panacea for resolving other problems inherent in the society. Consequently, the study recommended that justice in Plato’s sense be observed if nation-building would be made less difficult in Nigeria.
Keywords: nation-building, state-building, peace-building, role, political scientists.

I.     INTRODUCTION

Nation-building defines the progress of any country and this is why it is not taken for granted by those who hold development close to their hearts. Imperatively, once nation-building is compromised, development is also compromised. Unfortunately, while advanced countries like the United States and Israel have consistently and persistently pursued genuine nation-building designed to integrate their peoples, Nigeria continues to grope around the orbit of nation-building without a genuine attempt to rotate it. American experience has shown that political scientists and lawyers played significant roles in American nation-building. Such leaders like Abraham Lincoln, J.F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Woodrow Wilson and Barak Obama, to mention but few, remain outstanding not only because of their leadership exploits but also their intellectual erudition sustained through scholarly contribution to most social problems confronting man in his ecosystemic anthropocentricism.
Against this backdrop, the critical question to ask remains, what role(s) should political scientists play in the overall project of nation-building in Nigeria? This question was necessitated by two interrelated reasons: firstly, it does appear that the panacea for genuine nation-building relies on the crucial role of the political scientists. Secondly, it also appears that pure scientists in government see societal conflicts as an evil and so expect human beings to behave like organisms in the laboratories. These pure scientists do not see conflict as something inherent in the society which is healthy for its development. Indeed, it was John Allen Paulos who queried, „why don‟t Americans elect scientists?‟ (Allen, 2012). He concluded that one reason responsible for such disinterestedness among Americans in electing pure scientists to occupy government positions is that an abstract scientific approach to problems and issues often leads to conclusions that are odds with religions and cultural beliefs and scientists (pure) are sometimes tone-deaf to the social environment in which they state their conclusions (Allen, 2012). The work has been partitioned into ten starting with this brief introduction, meaning and nature of nation-building, theoretical framework for understanding nation-building.

II.     MEANING AND NATURE OF NATION-BUILDING

To understand the idea of nation-building, exploring the meaning of a nation becomes important. Early definitions of nation conceived it as „a group or race of people who shared history, traditions, and culture, sometimes religion, and usually language‟ (Carolyn, 2005). In this regard, the people of a nation generally shared a common national identity. Part of nation-building therefore becomes

REVOLUTION IN NIGERIA

REVOLUTION IS THE LAST HOPE NOT CHANGE

Revolution is that point in time when the governed in a particular organization/state get tired of the government or political system in power and forcibly overthrow the “power house” for the benefits of all in the society. The thesaurus dictionary defined revolution as the overthrow or repudiation of a regime or political system by the governed while Karl Max or the Marxists see revolution as the violent and historically necessary transition from one system of production in a society to the next, as from feudalism to capitalism. Revolution in essence means change from what is considered unacceptable to what is generally favorable to the majority. I will say that in a way, democracy has failed in Nigeria or rather Nigeria practice what I refer to as theoretical democracy which in practical terms does not exist. Nigeria claims to practice democracy since the new beginning in 1999 when the government of Abdulsalami’s transition to civil rule program became a reality. Since 1999 till date, Nigeria has been regarded as a democratic state. But the question remains, is Nigeria really a democratic state as they claimed?
Well the answer is NO! Nigeria as a democratic state is a constitutional article which in practice is deceptive and unreliable. If at all we must regard Nigeria as a democratic state, we should not also forget to address it as a dictatorial democracy.
It is true that Nigeria does not have a sit-tight autocrat. But “Does the absence of a sit-tight leader mean that Nigeria has no dictatorship?” The Merriam Webster dictionary defines dictatorship as “autocratic rule, control or leadership” or as “a form of government in which absolute power is concentrated in a dictator or a small clique”. In the definition above, it can be deduced that you need not be a military personnel to rule by autocracy.  In other words, dictatorship varies dependent on how and when an action is taken and cause of the action. Nigeria autocracy is been covered under the name of democracy which makes people believe that the law is prevalent in all actions and that every action is taken by the majority.
Let us not be fooled by our bogus democracy where the people (party faithful) have no say in the determination of delegates to their party convention and by extension, their party’s flag bearers, who usually are the candidates that dish out the largest amount of foreign currency. In Nigeria, the state is equivalent to the ruling party and the ruling party is synonymous with the Nigerian state. There is no clear distinction. The cohort have absolute control over all arms of government, including the judiciary, all state apparatus, institutions  and parastatals including INEC, EFCC, the Federal Police and the NNPC. They can effectively deploy the resources of the EFCC for example to intimidate political opponents while simultaneously milking the resources of the NNPC to procure political patronage. Typical Examples of such can be traced to when the federal government dragged the likes of Ike Ekweremmadu and some judges who we know judged a case against APC or the party affiliated personnel to court accusing them of being corrupt and some other uncalled for sort of accusations.

THE NEED FOR REVOLUTION IN NIGERIA
Nigerians have lingered too long in vain in the hope that the leopard will change her spots. Going back to memory lane, the most dispassionate observer must be moved to read of the condition of the first generations who worked in the mines and mills of England, America, France and Germany. Living in surroundings of intense squalor and ugliness, these men, women and children were called upon to work up to and in many cases beyond the capacity of human endurance. Nigerian workers have not fared better in terms of equitable reward.
Revolution is a concept that has been used and practiced in so many states. This concept had always produced a positive result. The reason for revolution is to bring in a new state that is less corrupt, a new state that will give the majority equal participation in the running of the state and for some other reasons but the utmost aim of every revolutionists is to achieve a greater result than what is in existence already. The republic of Cuba some years ago experienced a great revolution carried out by Fidel Castro and his colleagues, his ultimate aim was to overthrow the then military and autocratic leadership of Batista and to restore the fundamental rights of Cuban citizens and actualize a  new state where everyone will live well, he wanted a classless society where everyone is seen as being equal, where the rule of law is effective and efficient, where some people don’t have to live in luxury while others has nothing to eat. Where the law is made for everybody. The revolution of Fidel Castro created a new state, Cuban therefore went from being a capitalist state to being a socialist state thereby creating rooms for “a world for all” in Cuba.
Nigeria is faced with a nonviolent change in the social and political structure of our society. The new Nigeria should embark on a systematic departure from an insolent Status Quo whose difficult disastrous control on the society at large seems unbeatable. When discontented groups in the society have been unable to improve their circumstances by peaceful and legal means, they have sometimes been driven to the extremity

Angry student reacts to e-MOODLE

This is absolutely exasperating and unacceptable.... A school(UNN) of high prestige with excellent reputation, can not conduct a free and easy online test. Mr. Chukwuma to who much is given, much is expected. Great lions and lionesses I know you are not happy with this, and we must not remain calm. UNN is one of the most expensive federal university in Nigeria, yet services are not well rendered to the students. My friend scored ZERO in two different courses(GS105 & GS101) as a result of bad network or should I say a WEAK WebSITE. School has become a nightmare for us. How do we tell our parent that we failed? How do we tell them that their money is wasting? I can't and know you can't too! So, let's say no to this....we must protest for the e-Moodle test to be cancelled. NO e-MOODLE TEST! NO e-MOODLE!! NO e-MOODLE TEST!!! @ FREEDOM SQUARE TOMORROW. 10AM.

UNIVERSITY OF JOS (OFFICE OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR) Information, Publications, Public Relations & Protocol Division

PRESS RELEASE

UNIJOS DISSOLVES STUDENTS UNION GOVERNMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY

The Students Union Government (SUG) of the University of Jos has been dissolved. In its place, a Five-man Caretaker Committee has been constituted.
Speaking while inaugurating the Caretaker Committee, Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Seddi Sebastian Maimako gave reasons for the dissolution of the Students Union Government to include the decision of its members to convene a meeting of Students without due approval from the Directorate of Students Affairs which resulted in a protest where the Students were carrying placards against the School Administration for implementing a Federal Government directive of new School Charges for all Federal Government Universities. The SUG officials had similarly mobilized Students to attend the Stakeholders meeting with parents uninvited and were shouting down parents during the course of the meeting. The Vice-Chancellor adduced other reasons for the dissolution to include externalizing an internal issue affecting the University without following the acceptable laid down procedures for conflict resolution in the University, intimidating and issuing threats to law abiding Students including fresh Students who are willing to comply with the payment of the new School Charges. The SUG officials were also accused of maligning the Principal Officers of the University including the Vice-Chancellor on various media platforms including the social media while misinforming members of the public on the action taken by the University Authorities in the process of implementing the new School Charges.

The Vice Chancellor admonished the students on the need for "Knowledge Based Economy"

The Vice Chancellor admonished the students on the need for "Knowledge Based Economy", He stressed on the fact that "Smart Work is better than Hard Work" with the illustration that wheelbarrow pushers would have been the richest is it was through hard work.

The Vice Chancellor passionately asked students to create about 5000 Links or more for the UNN website, This is for the purpose of making the University of Nigeria, Nsukka become visible in terms of Information. He stated that this could only be achieved if students begin to own Blog sites which is a personal website where you can access stories about events concerning  the UNN,and that all the Classes in the University must have a blog site, all you need to do is just go to the UNN website take a little of the information there and paste it on your blog for people to read.  it should be strictly Academics.

The VC also said that there will be prizes for the first  10 best  bloggers and 10 best Classes. Have you a blog and has abandoned it.. why don't you revisit it and start sharing information from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka website.

You can also use your Facebook Account to share stories and Information...but it would be better if you link your Facebook account with your blog site.

Now concerning the Challenges surrounding the moodle Test.

The Director of ICT took time to explain the challenges with the students even before they attribute it to the ICT Unit, He explained that students who actually took the Test, that is you answered questions and failed, you do not have an excuse as to the failure experienced during the MoodleTest.

He gave an illustration that when a thousand people hit the Bank to make payment for fees, the system breaks down and it results to several complications. even in the midst of the complications, several people outside the state took the moodle test and it was hitch free for them. But that the major reason why alot of persons experienced one problem or another was as a result of the huge number of user at a particular time.

Nonetheless, He said for those who did not answer any question and got 0/10, should not be scared a
